My life story (7)

My life story (7)

When I was a little boy growing up in Iran our home was a very clean space. Our outside shoes were for outside never to be worn inside. I had that ingrained in me growing up. As an adult I left my country and ended up in Canada.
It was 1996 I was living in an apartment and I was having electrical issues. I called the manager and she came by to have a look. When she came in she started to walk into my house with her shoes on. I asked her polity to remove her shoes. She was shocked I could tell by her face and she responded:” I have to wear these, they are my safety shoes”. I guess, she could also tell by my face that I wasn’t letting her in any further until she removed her shoes.

It has taken a while for two different cultures to mesh and become one. I can now walk in my house with my shoes on.
