Take care of yourself
During times of crisis , it is important to remember to take care of yourself and those close to you.
-Know that everyone reacts differently to crisis and trauma and expect/accept those differences … this is normal.
-Keep your regular routine.
-Take care not to isolate. Talk openly about your feelings.
-Be prepared to spend more time with your children at bedtime. They may need more reassurance at this time.
-Keep an eye on your family, friends and co-workers for stress reactions. If you are concerned about how you or someone you know is reacting, call for help.
Set healthy boundaries with others For example:-
“I don’t want to talk about the coronavirus right now. Can we talk about something else instead?”
-“I appreciate that you want to help me stay informed by sharing news articles and links, but I’m good for right now/I’d prefer if you didn’t.”
Together, we can get through anything.
